PETsys TOF ASIC Evaluation Kit

PETsys Time-of-Flight ASIC Evaluation Kit

The PETsys TOF ASIC Evaluation Kit has been designed for universities and research institutes that want to develop and test their own photo-sensors or detector modules. It includes the TOFPET2 ASIC, the FEB/D board and the DAQ board, enabling users to quickly setup a complete test bench. The kit is optimized for SiPMs, but it can also be used for other types of photo-sensors, such as APDs and MCPs.

The kit is delivered with all the required firmware, application software, and documentation. Training on the use of the product electronics can also be provided.

Main Features

Check

Two FEM128 modules (Fig. 3), and two cables for connecting this modules to the FEB/D board.

Check

One FEB/D board supplying the data and sending the data to the DAQ computer using a Gigabit Ethernet link. The FEB/D also receives configuration and clock signals from the ASICs, and bias voltages to the SiPMs.

Check

Two SiPM boards with connector with mounting circuits on boards that plug into the FEM128 modules. Like HPO modules, and a radioactive source (22Na holder).

Check

A cooling box with two Peltier elements for controlling the temperature, allowing stable and reproducible temperature conditions (Fig. 4).

Check

Firmware for the FEB/D board, allowing communication of the ASICs, and readout of the data using Gigabit Ethernet. The FEB/D board is equipped with Linux OS.

Check

JTAG interface cable for programming the firmware in the Xilinx FPGA of the FEB/D board. This allows to upload firmware updates in the FEB/D.

Check

Application software for receiving the data in a PC.

Check

One day training on the use of the product electronics for one or two people.

Check

Documentation.
